Akiba Uhaki the Human Rights and Social Justice Fund, is an emerging grant-making organization dedicated to supporting and accompanying Human Rights and Social Justice related organizations in East Africa i.e. Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

Akiba Uhaki Foundation is committed to supporting efforts to ensure that approaches to Human Rights and Social Justice work are customized to fit within the needs of diverse groups and sectors in society, and in particular those seeking to address issues which most conventional funding partners do not usually support, these include:

To promote, uphold and strengthen human rights and social justice through proactive and innovative grant-making to institutions that share in our vision.

The fund is and shall at all times be informed and guided by, advocate for and adhere to the Human Rights principles of:

The Fund aspires to meet the following institutional strategic objectives:

• Increasing the scope, scale and reliability of funding for Human Rights and Social Justice institutions, processes and movements in rural and urban East Africa.
