Overview
Through our Programs Department, Akiba Uhaki Foundation offers grants to Human Rights and Social Justice Organizations in the East African region, up to a current limit of Kshs. 500,000 for organizations within Kenya and USD 6,500 for organizations from Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania.

Akiba Uhaki GrantsCurrently the Programs Department of Akiba Uhaki offers grants in the following three categories:
Targeted Grants:Targeted Grants: The targeted grants support organizations identified by Akiba Uhaki or its partners working with communities and making a difference through innovative community organizing and advocacy programs and projects.Pass-Through Grants:Pass-Through Grants: In pursuit of its mandate, Akiba Uhaki works to raise funds on behalf of specific projects or organizations from regional sources, the diaspora and international organizations and individuals with interests in the said projects and/or organizations and pass the funds through to the intended recipients.CFP Grants:CFP Grants: CFP provides opportunities for organizations that may be “off-the-radar” but who have such innovative ideas as Akiba Uhaki is looking for to apply for grants within the human rights and social justice programs.How to ApplyEligibility Criteria
Grantee ResourcesFunding Proposal Guidelines: The Applicant is required to prepare and submit a brief but concise proposal, preferably of between 4-7 pages (inclusive of budget), which should provide all the following details: Case Studies
The Fund successfully hosted, with the help of other partner organisations, five regional Roundtables in 2007 with the first in the series being held in Nairobi, Kenya and the last in Bujumbura, Burundi.
